The Junior Achievement franchise was brought to Zimbabwe in 1998 and officially registered as a Trust in October of 1999 which delivered programs to 19 schools in Harare, Kadoma and Bulawayo in that inaugural year. The organisation was helped to start by founder and inaugural Executive Director Debra Stinton Othitis.Since its launch in 1919, the Company Programme has been teaching students how to take a business idea from concept to reality. They form their own real enterprise and discover first-hand how a company functions. They elect a board of directors from amongst their peers, raise share capital, and market and finance a product or service of their own choice.
