This is going to sound dumb but the scariest movies for me that affected me the most was Jurassic Park (I was 6 and had trouble sleeping for months) and Mars Attacks (I was 8 and had nightmare's for a few years) To this day however I have a real love/fear relationship with the Paranormal Activity movies the most. Idiocracy (2006) is hands down the scariest movie ever made because it feels like we are on are way to that happening.
