Squeeze the lever and get less than adequate braking, then suddenly it grabs. Remove the lever and clean the pivot bolt, lever and the root cause of mine was a sticky master cylinder piston.Pull petcock vacuum hose and fuel hose. Remove speedo unit = 3 screws around fuel filler, lift slightly and pull back the speedo unit.. Put fuel cap on again. Hang the speedo on the right handle bar grip. I woudl check out the two switches involved - one on the hand lever and one on the foot lever.
